Welcome to Famagogo HQ, the epicenter of family travel and adventure!  When the Holcombes sold their home in 2014 and moved their family and photography business into a 170 square foot Winnebago View for a year long road trip, they had no idea of the impact that one fateful decision would have on...well, pretty much everything.

That first year on the road was a time of letting go:  letting go of the house and mortgage, the photography studio, and all the trappings of life in the suburbs. Once they let go of the external pressures to "get ahead", they found themselves with and abundance of time and freedom to pursue the projects and adventures and ultimately allowed the Holcombes to sculpt a lifestyle beyond their wildest dreams.

One year on the road became two, and then three…four…five, and now there is no end in sight.  In fact the adventures just keep getting better.  After five years of exploring North America, the Holcombes are simplifying and downsizing once again, and moving into a 72 square foot 4x4 Winnebago Revel that they are planning to take around the world..

They are on a mission to share their journey around the world in hopes of inspiring you to get outside, spend time with the people you love, and go on your own adventure.

Field Test: The Revel Adventure Van

The anticipation was palpable as we jockeyed for position in the Ottawa City airport boarding area, waiting for our flight to Colorado.  Typically we are more sit-back-and-take-it-as-it-comes passengers, but that day we had four large bags of ...

The Paddling Season That Never Ends; Tips for Winter Paddling.

Over ten years ago, the annual onset of winter in Colorado became something I dreaded. Not because of snow or cold, but because of the absence of paddling opportunities after the end of the much-too-short run off season. When I learned that there ...
